Salvador Dali is world renowned for his paintings and larger than life murals. He is a surrealist icon with imaginative subjects, controversial matter, and shock value type of art. Dali lived like his art. In his later years he turned to other artistic mediums such as sculpture, printmaking, fashion, advertising, writing, and filmmaking. This new exhibit is entitled Dali: The Sculpture Collection and exhibition offers twenty-eight Sculptures from the Collection and Spanish Masters artworks. The Spanish Masters include Picasso, Goya and Miro.
Off The Wall Gallery in Houston will be featuring this exhibit on exhibition and available for acquisition beginning August 15th, 2014 and extending through August 24th, 2014; with Previews beginning August 15th. The gallery announced two very special appearances by noted Dali expert Frank Hunter: Saturday, August 23rd from 6-8pm and Sunday, August 24th from 1-3pm. The exhibition is open and complimentary to the public.
Beniamino Levi, editor of the Dalí Sculpture Collection and President of the Stratton Foundation, is a recognized world expert in the field of Modern Art. His expertise spans a wide range of artistic knowledge, from Impressionism through modern times. In charge and entrusted with this exhibition to date, he has successfully organized approximately 100 critically and publicly acclaimed Modern Art exhibitions worldwide, attracting over 10 million visitors during the last two decades. Levi frequently travelled to see Dalí at his many residences in Paris, New York and his home in Spain. Fascinated by some early Dalí sculptures he had found and bought from a Paris gallery, Mr. Levi encouraged the Surrealist master to once more express his artistic vision in sculptural form.
